Surgeries, bypasses, angioplasties.  You name it, he’s had it.  But despite his long life under the knife, Simon is still going strong.  No matter the day, you’ll likely see Simon out on the streets with his dog, Blackie near his side.

He’s known to run as far as his old bones will take him.  And, if he can’t run, he walks.  Up and down the hill outside his Sherman Oaks Home.  But he’s not just your ordinary old time trooper. In 1984, he became the first person to win a national age-group gold medal after undergoing open heart surgery, he carried the Olympic torch through Santa Monica.  In 1994, he won the 4X100 relay national masters championship in Eugene Oregon with a time of 59.9 seconds.

This guy is still going at it strong.  It’s refreshing to see someone keeping healthy and motivated in their old age.
